ORTEA designs and manufactures a wide variety of specialized transformers in various designs, and also non-standard models according to the customer's specification.
The company offers isolation transformers, transformers for UPS devices, for straighteners, for photovoltaic systems and transformers for non-linear loads.
ORTEA non-linear load transformers are specially designed isolation transformers, capable of withstanding the action of mains harmonics. Typical non-linear loads are computers and computer data centers, frequency controlled electric motors, the inverters, welding machines and many others.
Transformers for non-linear loads, ORTEA production are divided into several groups according to their K-factor. He is an indicator of that, how large is the disturbing effect of harmonics on the system.
The higher the K-factor, the higher the level of harmonics in the network, which the transformer must withstand without any damage. For example, K1 factor transformers are only suitable for use with loads such as resistance heaters, electric motors, or as control and distribution transformers. With factor K4 they are suitable for welding machines, induction heaters, fluorescent lighting, etc. Transformers with the highest K20 factor are extremely suitable for single computers or computer data centers, systems with frequency-regulated electric motors, etc.
It is extremely important to note, that these transformers cannot remove the harmonics present in the network( except for the third and multiples of three harmonics), but are able to withstand their negative impact.
